Healthy Vending

Healthy Vending Machines — Tuned to Your Team.

Tell us what your team wants — lower-sugar, lower-sodium, plant-based, hydration-first, a fresh-food cooler, or just “a little healthier than what we have now.” We come look, we build a mix that fits, and we adjust it over time based on what’s actually moving. For qualifying workplaces of 50+ on-site daily, the program is no-cost.

How BUV handles “healthy”

We tune the mix to your team — and adjust it as the data comes in.

“Healthy vending” gets used loosely in the industry. At BUV it just means we build the mix your team actually wants. We lean the catalog toward lower-sugar, lower-sodium, plant-based, hydration-first, and fresh-food options where they fit — alongside traditional favorites so the machines stay busy and the program funds itself.

Once the program is live we watch what’s moving and what’s sitting. The mix shifts over time. If a healthier category does well at your account, we expand it. If a category we hoped would move sits on the shelf, we pull it and try a different angle. Same operator, same drivers, same family running it the whole time — only the catalog inside flexes.

If you have a wellness goal or a framework you’re working to, share it on the walk-through. We’re not a wellness consultancy — we’re a vending operator who’s happy to build whatever shape of healthier program fits your team. No stock template, no big promises.

What we lean the mix toward

Four categories where the healthier lean lives.

Broad shapes — specific items shift over time. We’ll talk through which of these fits your team on the walk-through.

01

Snacks — lower-sugar & lower-sodium

Salty and sweet stay on the shelf because that’s what most teams reach for. The lean: more lower-sodium and lower-sugar options alongside, in real proportions — not a token slot.

02

Drinks — hydration-first

Bottled water and sparkling water lead the cooler. Juice, lighter beverages, and lower-calorie options round it out alongside the traditional choices your team expects.

03

Plant-based options

Where the team has plant-based preferences, the category gets real shelf real estate — not one item buried in a corner. The proportion flexes as we see what’s moving.

04

Fresh-food cooler

Wrapped sandwiches, salads, and fruit options in a refrigerated case. A real lunch lane, restocked on a route schedule built around your team’s traffic. Fits some accounts and not others.

How a healthy program comes together

Five steps from first call to first restock.

For qualifying workplaces of 50+ on-site daily, we install, stock, and service everything ourselves. The walk-through is where the program actually gets built.

01

Tell us

Share what your team wants — lower-sugar, hydration-first, fresh-food, plant-based, or just “a little healthier than what we have.”

02

Site walk

We come on-site, look at the breakroom footprint, and talk through the practical pieces — placement, traffic, what category gets the prime row.

03

Build the mix

We design the opening lineup — healthier-leaning categories alongside traditional favorites. Not a stock template; a starting point that fits your team.

04

Install & stock

Machines arrive on a route day, get placed, get configured, get stocked. Your team has access that same day.

05

Watch & adjust

Sales data tells us what’s moving and what’s sitting. The mix shifts over time — what works grows, what doesn’t gets re-thought.

Sectors with wellness lean

Where a healthier lean usually fits.

These are the sectors where the wellness ask comes up most often. Each one has a different rhythm and a different definition of “healthy”; we tune the program to fit.

01

Corporate wellness offices

HR-led wellness programs and benefits-team initiatives. The vending program supports the broader goal — hydration-first beverage lineups, real shelf real estate for the lower-sodium and lower-sugar categories, and a fresh-food cooler where the headcount and traffic support it. Traditional favorites stay in the mix alongside.

02

Healthcare staff zones

Staff break rooms in hospitals, family lounges, senior-living communities, urgent-care campuses. Late-shift coverage matters, quieter machines matter, and a fresh-food cooler with lighter beverage lineups tends to fit the use case. If you have a wellness goal or framework for the staff side, share it on the walk-through.

03

Fitness facilities

Gyms, fitness clubs, corporate wellness centers, hotel fitness rooms (member-side, not guest-vending). Hydration leads the cooler — water, sparkling, electrolyte options — with recovery snacks and lighter packaged options on the snack side. Hydration-first beverage layout is the default fit for member-flow timing and post-workout traffic.

04

School faculty & admin buildings

K-12 districts and higher-ed admin buildings — faculty lounges, district administrative offices, central support centers. Adult-facing faculty buildings typically have more category flexibility than student-facing placements. If your district runs to a wellness framework, share it on the walk-through and we’ll talk through what fits.

05

Park districts

Indoor placements year-round — fieldhouses, rec lobbies, ice rink concourses, indoor pool houses, community-center lobbies. A healthier lean fits the audience: families looking for lighter options alongside the traditional crowd-pleasers, water taking the lead row in the cooler. Indoor only; outdoor placements aren’t part of how we operate.

All breakroom programs, one operator

Healthy vending pairs with the rest of the BUV catalog.

BUV runs the full breakroom catalog. A healthier vending program can sit alongside any of the other programs on the same route schedule, same service line, same family.

Common questions

Healthy vending — frequently asked questions

What does “healthy vending” actually mean at BUV?

It just means we lean the mix toward what your team is asking for — lower-sugar, lower-sodium, plant-based, hydration-first, and fresh-food options where they fit, alongside the traditional favorites. We’re not a stock-template wellness vendor; we build the lineup per account and adjust it as the sales data comes in.

Is the program really no-cost for our business?

For qualifying workplaces of 50+ employees on-site daily — yes. We supply the machines, the install labor, the restock labor, the service calls, the cashless payment processing, and the product. Your team pays at the machine for what they buy; the business doesn’t write a check.

Smaller sites or accounts with a heavy wellness lean are sometimes a fit too with a different program shape — for example, a subsidized program where the company covers part of the cost so the prices to the team stay lower on the wellness categories. We’ll walk through what works for your headcount and your wellness goal.

Will you swap out our existing operator if we’re already in a program?

Often, yes. Most accounts we pick up come from another operator that wasn’t tuning the mix the way the team wanted — including wellness fits that never quite landed. We handle the transition: old equipment removal, new equipment install, opening assortment, and the route schedule, all on the same install day where possible.

For more on what the switch looks like, see our switching vending providers transition plan.

How do you decide what’s “healthy enough” for our account?

You tell us. If you have an internal wellness policy, a food-service guideline, or just a sense of “we want more lower-sugar stuff and fewer sodas” — share it on the walk-through and we’ll build the opening mix around that. If you don’t have a written policy and just want a healthier-leaning program, we’ll talk through what that looks like in practice.

We’re not a wellness consultancy; we’re a vending operator who can build the program in any healthier shape your team wants.

What products can you actually stock?

Broad shape: snacks (salty, sweet, lower-sodium, lower-sugar, plant-based), drinks (water, sparkling water, juice, lighter beverages, traditional options), and a fresh-food cooler for accounts that add one (wrapped sandwiches, salads, fruit). Items shift with season, supplier availability, and what your team is actually reaching for. The mix is constantly being adjusted at your account.

For a reference catalog of what we currently carry across the network, see our full product list; ask us for the current available list when we talk and we’ll walk through what fits your team.

Where do you operate?

We’re headquartered in Posen, IL with hubs in Springfield, IL and Kenosha, WI. The footprint covers Illinois (Chicagoland, the I-55 logistics corridor, the Peoria-Rockford and Quad Cities corridors, central and downstate IL through Springfield), NW Indiana (Hammond, Gary, Merrillville corridor — Posen is a short hop across the line), and southeast Wisconsin (Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee-area workplaces inside our radius). For the full city list, see our service areas page along with the Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana state hubs.

How is healthy vending different from a workplace micro market?

The wellness tilt can sit inside either program. Vending machines fit any workplace of 50+ on-site daily; the wellness lean lives in the catalog, not the machine shape. Workplace micro markets fit closed-population sites of 100+ on-site daily and add a fresh-food category, frozen, and an open-shelf format with a self-checkout kiosk — which gives the wellness tilt more shelf real estate to work with (real lunch lanes, real fresh-food options).

Both are run by the same operator on the same route schedule. The walk-through is where we figure out which one fits your site.
