Vending & Micro Markets for Gyms, Fitness Clubs & Boutique Studios
From the front-desk lobby to the workout floor to the recovery lounge — one operator handles hydration, protein, recovery, and grab-and-go across every member touchpoint. We install, restock, and service across Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
- Family-owned, since 2003
- Friendly to 24-hour gyms
- Hydration + protein + recovery mix
- IL · IN · WI service area
Trusted by fitness clubs, studios, and recovery operators across the Midwest
To be clear: Bottoms Up Vending is a vending service operator — we install machines and run the program inside your club. We’re not a supplement retailer, fitness-equipment dealer, or franchise. If you’re a gym owner or fitness operator looking for vending and a micro market inside your facility, that’s exactly what this page is about.
What members want changes with the workout, not just the day
A member walking through the door at 6am wants something different from the one walking out at 7:30. We tune the mix to pre-workout energy, mid-workout hydration, and post-workout recovery — across every machine in the building.
Energy & hydration as members arrive
Pre-workout is the lobby and front-desk moment. Cold drinks, hydration, and light energy options sell harder than anything else. Glass-front coolers placed near the door catch members on the way in.
- Cold hydration and electrolyte drinks weighted heavier
- Light pre-workout fuel — small grab-and-go options
- Cashless tap — card, phone, or watch
- Front-desk placement, member-facing
Hydration on the floor and at the studio door
Mid-workout is the floor and the studio corridor — quick refills between sets, water and electrolytes outside group rooms. Reliable coolers sized for the traffic pattern, refilled around member peaks.
- Hydration and electrolytes weighted heavier
- Bottled water + sports drinks at the front of the cooler
- Studio-door placement for group-class members
- Restock visits scheduled around your peak hours
Recovery & protein after the session
Post-workout is the locker-room corridor and the lounge. Protein, recovery drinks, and grab-and-go meals matter most here. A small micro market with a fresh-food cooler is often the right call once the club has the traffic to support it.
- Protein and recovery categories weighted heavier
- Fresh-food cooler for grab-and-go meals where MM fits
- Locker-room and lounge placement
- Tuned for the post-workout buying window
Four member touchpoints across the club
The workout stage tells us what to stock. The member-flow map tells us where to place it. We walk the building with you and recommend per zone — not by template. For deeper context on placement and product mix, see our gym vending machine guide.
The arrival-and-departure moment
The front desk is where members arrive thirsty and leave looking for a quick recovery drink. A tall glass-front beverage cooler at the lobby threshold catches both moments. For larger clubs, a small open-shelf grab-and-go corner pairs with the cooler.
- Tall glass-front cooler at the lobby threshold
- Hydration and recovery drinks at eye level
- Optional small open-shelf snack corner for larger clubs
- Cashless tap-to-pay, no fumbling at the desk
Quick refills between sets
The workout floor needs a cooler within a short walk of cardio and weight zones — water, electrolytes, and a small recovery option. Placement worked out around equipment paths so members can refill without breaking flow.
- Cooler sized to the floor’s member-throughput
- Water and electrolytes at the front of the cooler
- Placement worked out around equipment paths
- Reliable through humidity and member-floor temperatures
Hydration outside the class door
Group-class corridors are their own micro-environment — members coming out of a 6am bootcamp or a 7pm yoga class want hydration immediately. A cooler outside the door (not inside) keeps the studio quiet and the corridor stocked.
- Outside-the-door placement keeps studios quiet
- Hydration, electrolytes, and reusable-bottle refill compatible
- Restock cadence tuned to your class schedule
- Quieter machines for adjacent yoga + Pilates rooms
The post-workout recovery zone
The locker-room corridor and adjacent lounge are where post-workout protein, recovery drinks, and grab-and-go meals get bought. For clubs with 100+ concurrent members, a self-checkout micro market fits here — closer to a small café than a vending bank.
- Recovery drinks, protein options, grab-and-go meals
- Micro market with fresh-food cooler for larger clubs (100+)
- Locker-room placement built for humid environments
- Self-checkout kiosk — tap card or phone
From walk-through to a program that runs in the background
We’ve installed programs across big-box gyms, boutique studios, and recovery clubs. The shape is the same every time — we just adjust for your member flow, hours, and floor plan.
Walk-through
We tour the club — lobby, floor, studios, locker rooms, lounge — and map who’s moving through where. Equipment paths, electrical access, and any humidity constraints get noted on-site.
Zone-by-zone plan
You get a written plan — vending where it fits, micro market where it fits — with placement, product mix, and restock approach for each touchpoint and time-of-day pattern.
Install
We deliver, place, and set up machines, coolers, and (where applicable) the micro-market kiosk. Placement is confirmed during install. Cashless payment and signage are live before we leave.
Restock & refine
Routes restock on a peak-aware schedule. We watch sales data per machine and tune the mix as your member preferences shift through the year.
Every shape of fitness operation

Open-floor functional fitness gyms — durable single-cooler programs sized to a tight community of regularsMulti-tenant fitness centers
Mixed-use buildings with gym + tenant amenities — multiple zones, sometimes a closed-population micro marketWhich fits where in your club
Most clubs end up with vending only. A micro market makes sense once the club has the traffic and a lounge that can hold the footprint — usually a multi-tenant operator or a larger fitness center.
Most studios, most floors, most locker rooms
Glass-front coolers and snack machines drop into lobbies, studio corridors, and locker-room areas without taking up real estate. The right answer for the vast majority of fitness operators.
- Boutique studios and single-room clubs
- Big-box club lobby + floor + locker-room programs
- Group-studio corridor placements
- Smaller HIIT, yoga, Pilates, cycling, and CrossFit-style clubs
- Anywhere a kiosk and counter would feel like overkill
Multi-tenant clubs, recovery operators, large centers
An open-shelf micro market with a self-checkout kiosk feels closer to a small café than a vending machine. Right fit for clubs with 100+ concurrent members and a lounge that can hold the footprint. Closed-population sites only — member access, not open public spaces.
- Multi-tenant fitness centers
- Large clubs with 100+ concurrent members on a typical floor
- Recovery and wellness operators with member-lounge footprints
- Open-shelf snacks, fresh-food cooler, recovery drinks in one space
- Self-checkout kiosk — member pays with tap card or phone
The full member-amenity program in one operator
Vending, micro markets, coffee, and ice cream — all on one route, one team, one point of contact. Most fitness operators use two or three; some use all five.

Request Free Vending ServiceGym & fitness vending — questions we hear most
What products go in a gym vending machine? What about protein and supplements?
The mix tunes to the workout stage. Lobby and front-desk cooler weights cold hydration and electrolyte drinks heavier. Floor and studio coolers weight water and electrolytes most. Locker-room and lounge programs weight recovery drinks, protein-category options, and grab-and-go meal items heavier. Supplements as a category fit naturally in the lounge or locker-corridor program — we keep the framing generic and tune to what your members actually buy.
Can we get vending machines stocked with recovery drinks?
Yes — recovery drinks are a heavier category in the locker-room and lounge cooler, and they’re in the post-workout product mix on most of our fitness accounts. We tune ratios to your member traffic and adjust as preferences shift through the year. More on gym vending product mix in our gym vending guide.
Do you serve smaller boutique studios, or only big-box gyms?
Both. Boutique studios usually get a single tall cooler at the lobby or studio corridor — small footprint, restock cadence tuned to your class schedule. Big-box gyms get multi-zone programs across lobby, floor, studios, and locker rooms. The qualifying threshold is foot traffic, not square footage — a 1,500-square-foot boutique with 200 daily check-ins qualifies the same way a 25,000-square-foot club does.
Do micro markets work in 24-hour gyms?
Yes — closed-population sites (member-key-fob access, not public) are exactly the right fit. The market stays open all hours, members tap-to-pay with card or phone, and we tune the fresh-food cooler restock cadence to your overnight + early-morning peaks. Restocking happens during your quieter hours, not member peaks.
Can we offer free vending to members as a perk?
Yes, that’s a common configuration — the club covers the cost and members tap-to-redeem (or take freely from the cooler, depending on setup). We can also run hybrid models: hydration free, recovery drinks pay-per-item. The setup is flexible and you can switch the model later.
How does this work with our juice bar or in-club café?
Vending fills the gaps the café can’t cover — the floor cooler that’s nowhere near the bar, the locker-room corridor that doesn’t justify a staffed counter, the studio-side hydration that doesn’t fit the café footprint. We coordinate placement so the vending program complements your in-club café instead of competing with it.
What about humidity and locker-room placement? Will the machines hold up?
Equipment spec accounts for humidity. We don’t install machines inside locker rooms themselves (humidity + chlorine + temperature shifts shorten machine life) — we place them in the corridor immediately outside or in the lounge adjacent. Same access, dramatically longer machine life.
How often do machines get restocked? And what if one runs out?
Restock cadence is tuned to your peak hours and member traffic per machine — not a generic Tuesday route. We watch sales data per cooler and adjust visit frequency so the machine stays full through your peak windows. Routes are local — Posen IL, Springfield IL, Kenosha WI — so if something does run dry, response stays fast.
Are we locked into a long-term contract or equipment lease?
No long-term contract required, and no equipment cost to the club on qualifying sites. The program runs month-to-month — if it isn’t working, you tell us and we adjust or remove. Vending is free at 50+ daily-traffic equivalent (members or staff). Micro markets are free at 100+ concurrent member traffic in a closed-population setting.
Every industry has a different break-room rhythm
Eight industry pages, eight different operations. We tune the program — mix, restock frequency, equipment — to how your team or members actually use the space.
